Local High School Students Get Inspired at Concordia College Entrepreneurship Seminar

Over a hundred local high school students recently visited Concordia College for an awesome entrepreneurship seminar. It was a super cool event that brought together art and entrepreneur students from high schools across the Valley. The highlight of the seminar was a keynote presentation by Madi Hagen, a recent graduate of Concordia College and a successful business owner. Madi, along with her college best friend, started a business called Arts & Crafts by Adi & Madi. They create all sorts of amazing handicraft items like cups, jewelry, and seasonal wreaths.

During her talk, Madi shared her business journey and emphasized the close relationship between art and entrepreneurship. She encouraged aspiring artists to learn about the business side of things and understand what goes on behind the scenes. According to Madi, building relationships is key to success. She said, ‘It’s not about how many social media posts you have, but about the people you know and the connections you make.’

Madi also discussed the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. She explained that it can be difficult to balance what customers want with what you can actually provide. Sometimes, entrepreneurs take their ideas very personally, and it’s tough to separate their vision from the practicality of delivering a product.
