Get Ready for Flathead Valley GIS Day!

Hey folks! Guess what? FVCC and Flathead Electric are teaming up to host a super cool forum on GIS technology. It’s called Flathead Valley GIS Day, and it’s all about computerized mapping technology that helps industries make smart decisions based on data. The event is happening on November 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Flathead Electric Cooperative’s Community Room. They’ll be showcasing some awesome local GIS projects, so even if you’re not a GIS pro, you’re totally welcome to join in on the fun. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect: Flathead Electric Co-op will be talking about how they use satellite data to make decisions about wildfire mitigation. Flathead County GIS will share their efficient methods for collecting field data for mosquito control. And the folks from FVCC will be presenting a cool citizen science project called Mapping Ponderosa Pine. So mark your calendars and come hang out with us at Flathead Valley GIS Day!
