Mazda’s Big Win: Record Profits and Sales

Hey, check it out! Mazda just dropped some major news about their profits and sales, and it’s looking pretty sweet. They sold a whopping 616,000 vehicles globally from April to September 2023, which is a 20% increase from last year. In Europe, they sold 90,000 vehicles, up 34%, and in North America, they sold 184,000 units, up 38%. Even in Japan, they saw a 20% increase with 82,000 units sold. But in China, their biggest market in Asia, sales were down 8% at 45,000 units.

And get this, their net sales for the first half of the year hit a record high at ¥2.317,3 billion (€15 billion*), up a whopping 41% from last year. Their operating profit also shot up to ¥129.6 billion (€847 million*), and their net income was 108.1 ¥billion (€706 million*). That’s some serious cash flow!

They’re crediting this success to their new models like the Mazda CX-60 in Europe and the Mazda CX-90 in North America. Because of this, they’ve upped their global sales forecast for the year to 1.2 million units. In Europe, they’re aiming for 193,000 units, making it their second-largest market. They’re expecting net sales of ¥4,800 billion (€31.7 billion*), an operating income of ¥250 billion (€1.6 billion), and a net income of ¥170 billion (€1.1 billion*) for the fiscal year. That’s some serious growth!

But wait, there’s more! Mazda just announced the creation of a new Electrification Business Division to speed up their electrification efforts. They’re on a mission to meet environmental regulations and achieve carbon neutrality in all their plants by 2035. They’re keeping an eye on the market and staying ahead of the game. Go Mazda!
