Navtor and Voyager Worldwide Join Forces in Major Maritime Tech Merger

2 min read

Two maritime technology companies, Navtor and Voyager Worldwide, have decided to join forces and merge. This means they’ll be working together to provide products and solutions to around 18,000 ships worldwide. They’ve got offices all over the place, so they’re pretty well-connected in the shipping world.

The good news is that both companies will keep doing what they do best, and their customers won’t notice any big changes for now. They’ll still get the same level of service and support as before.

This merger is a big deal for Navtor, especially since they’ve been making some other moves in the industry. They acquired Tres Solutions in 2021 and Ingenium Marine in 2022, and they got a major investment in 2020. So, this latest merger is a major milestone for them.

The CEO of Navtor, Tor Svanes, is pretty excited about the whole thing. He thinks it’s a game-changer for the maritime technology world and will bring some great benefits for customers.

According to Nick Chubb, who knows a thing or two about the maritime industry, there’s been a huge increase in mergers and acquisitions in maritime technology. In the last three years, the number of these deals has gone up from 35 in 2020/2021 to 85 in 2022/1H 2023.
