Bedford’S Leisure Centres Get A New Management Contractor
Fusion Lifestyle Is Stepping Down As Bedford’S Leisure Management Contractor, And A New Player Is Taking Over From February 2024. The Council’S Executive Has Given The Green Light To Appoint Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) As The New Contractor For A Two-Year Period, With The Option To Extend For A Further Three Years.
Earlier This Year, Councillor Graeme Coombes Criticised Fusion Lifestyle, Calling It A ‘Dreadful Organisation’ That Has Poorly Managed Bedford Borough Council’S Leisure Provision. However, The Council Has Now Chosen GLL As The ‘Preferred Bidder’ For Their Economically Advantageous Proposal.
Councillor Sarah Gallagher, The Portfolio Holder For Leisure And Culture, Assured That There Will Be A Seamless Transition For All Leisure Facilities When Fusion Lifestyle’S Contract Ends In January 2024. She Also Acknowledged The Efforts Of Fusion Lifestyle And Its Staff, Recognizing The Challenges They Faced Due To The Pandemic.
The New Contractor, Greenwich Leisure Limited, Is A Prominent Leisure And Cultural Trust In The UK, Operating 240 Leisure Centres In Partnership With Over 60 Local Authorities And Public Bodies. With A Track Record Of Over 50 Million Visitors Annually And Generating More Than £390 Million In Social Value, GLL Aims To Bring An Ambitious Programme To Bedford’S Leisure Facilities.
