A special one-day workshop titled ‘Exploring Entrepreneurship: Opportunities and Challenges’ took place at the esteemed School of Business, SMVD University. The event, hosted within the framework of the National Innovation and Start-Up Policy and Institution’s Innovation Council, SMVDU, saw active participation from students enrolled in various undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
In his address at the inauguration of the workshop, Dr. Ashutosh Vashisth, the Dean of the Faculty of Management and CEO of TBIC SMVDU, underscored the pivotal role of innovative practices in the realm of entrepreneurship. Dr. Supran Kumar Sharma, the Director of the Directorate Quality Assurance Cell, SMVDU, and Chief Coordinator of EDC-SMVDU, shed light on the significance of fostering an entrepreneurial culture. Dr. Deepak Jain, the event coordinator, delved into the intricacies of identifying and harnessing business opportunities.
The workshop also featured presentations by two accomplished entrepreneurs, Mr. Amit Kumar Pandotra and Mr. Abhinav Sharma, who shared valuable insights derived from their respective ventures, LeharUP and SatyamKetu. Mr. Abhinav elaborated on his journey of establishing a wild honey venture under the banner of SatyamKetu, and stressed the growing importance of digital marketing in the entrepreneurial landscape. Meanwhile, Mr. Amit expounded on the vital role of tourism in the state economy and his efforts to expand his brand, LeharUp.
The day’s agenda also included a thought-provoking panel discussion centred on the theme ‘Entrepreneurship –Issues and Challenges’. The panel comprised of student representatives, two entrepreneurs, and two esteemed faculty members from the School of Business, SMVDU, namely Dr. Rashi Taggar and Dr. Syeda Shazia Bukhari. Dr. Rashi underscored the importance of sustainable practices for aspiring entrepreneurs, while Dr. Shazia highlighted the catalytic role of startups in the national economy. Dr. Deepak Jain, in addition to expressing gratitude, provided adept coordination throughout the event.
The workshop served as a truly enlightening and enriching experience, offering a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and expert insights on the nuances of entrepreneurship. The collective wisdom shared by the distinguished speakers has undoubtedly left an indelible imprint on the aspiring entrepreneurial minds in attendance.
