Artem Fishman Appointed as Chief Technology Officer at Dow Jones

Mr. Artem Fishman has been appointed as the new Chief Technology Officer for Dow Jones, heralding a significant milestone for the company. With his extensive experience and expertise in the technology and product arena, he represents a valuable addition to Dow Jones’ global team of engineers. Prior to joining Dow Jones, Mr. Fishman played a pivotal role in the development of core products including the feed, media experiences, and tools for content creators as he led the homepage and content experiences at LinkedIn.

In his new capacity, Mr. Fishman will assume oversight of the technology and product rollouts for all of Dow Jones’ brands, which encompass The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and their business intelligence products and services. This appointment comes at a critical juncture as Dow Jones navigates the implementation of cutting-edge technologies like generative AI and enhances the role of technology in its offerings.

Mr. Fishman brings with him a wealth of experience, having also served as the Chief Technology Officer at SoundCloud in Berlin, where he focused on product monetization strategies and expanding the company into a robust two-sided marketplace. His illustrious career also includes senior leadership roles at Yahoo, Thomson Reuters, and The New York Times. Possessing a bachelor’s degree in computer science from New York University, Mr. Fishman is well-prepared to lead the technology division at Dow Jones.

Reporting directly to Mr. Almar Latour, the CEO of Dow Jones and publisher of The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Fishman will be welcomed into the executive leadership team. His appointment will see Mr. Daniel Bernard continue in his role as the Chief Experience Officer, where he will focus on product development and customer experience. Mr. Fishman’s inaugural day in his new role is scheduled for December 4th.
