On 22nd November, the Genesis Centre for Experiential Learning and Career Services orchestrated a Lunch and Learn seminar in collaboration with the Windsor-Essex Small Business and Entrepreneurship Centre (SBEC). Headed by Business and Entrepreneurship Specialist Cristina Melnik, the seminar delivered invaluable insights into the array of services offered by the SBEC for new and aspiring business owners. According to Melnik, the SBEC serves as an indispensable resource for individuals contemplating or planning to initiate a business. Attendees were enlightened about the organization’s capacity to assist with business planning, market research, financial advice, grant opportunities, and mentorship.

The interactivity of the seminar allowed participants to openly discuss their entrepreneurial ambitions, resulting in a dynamic and engaging session. One participant expressed astonishment at the availability of the free resources and expressed eagerness to disseminate the information to others.

Students were introduced to a variety of programs tailored to nurture entrepreneurial aspirations and provide guidance for achieving success. The SBEC offers programs such as Starter Company Plus, Summer Company, Digital Main St., Foodpreneur Advantage, and the Growing Creative Careers Program.
