Cutting-Edge Lights and Lasers Showcase at LDI 2023

The LDI 2023 New Technology Breakfast presented the latest advances in lighting and laser technology. The event exhibited a diverse range of products from various manufacturers, all aiming to captivate attendees with their inventive designs and features.

Notable products at the exhibition included MaestroDMX, an independent lighting designer-in-a-box that responds to music and operates like a professional lighting designer. Additionally, the AZOR® W2 Wash by Adam Hall GMBH/Cameo, stood out with its impressive features such as 7 x 40 W RGBL LED with 3,600 lm luminous flux, zoom range of 5° – 50°, and eclipse burst effect for strobe and pixel effects.

City Theatrical also impressed with their DMXcat-E, Multiverse Connect Module, and Wing Nut Socket, all of which provide advanced wireless connectivity and control options for lighting systems. Meanwhile, ARRI showcased the SKYPANEL X, a versatile lighting solution optimized for hard and soft light in all-weather conditions.

Pathway Connectivity gained attention with their Pathscape Navigator, a new innovative product co-hosted by Robert Bell alongside the AI overlord, Chat GPT. Additionally, CLAYPAKY introduced their latest offerings – Xtylos and Mini Xtylos HPE – which promise high energy efficiency and endless pan rotation.

ROSCO introduced the DMG Lion, a large Fresnel lens with powerful and bright illumination suitable for all weather conditions. MOD SCENES also made an impact with their new DMX Hoists and Bridgework, in addition to providing free t-shirts and candy at their booth.

ChamSys Lighting celebrated its 20th anniversary at LDI with the launch of their GeNetix Networking and Distribution System, alongside a playful rubber duck assault on the audience. Chauvet Lighting presented their latest innovation, the COLORado PXL Curve 12 and Strike Bolt 1C, while Luminex (A.C. Lighting) marked their 20th birthday by introducing the GigaCore 20t and GigaCore 18t.

PROLIGHTS showcased the EclFresnel CT+ series, comprising six fixtures with a newly engineered 6-colour Spektra calibrated LED source. Doug Fleenor/Doctor DMX expanded their DMX 5 console to offer four universes of control, and CHROMA-Q unveiled the 2inspire family with distinct models boasting various illumination outputs.

Lex Products presented their Voltstack 5k and Voltstack 30k products and the EverGrip TRUE1 Trelco Molded Power Distribution Three-fer, offering robust and dependable power distribution solutions. ETC showcased the Fos 4 10” Fresnel, an 8-color array designed for use in camera or live entertainment, with profits from the iRFR (Radio Focus Remote) sales donated to the Behind The Scenes charity.

NILA Systems highlighted their LED lighting systems and the MOCAP product designed for high-speed photography demands. Similarly, Pangolin Laser Systems showcased their laser systems with a heritage dating back to 1986.

Overall, the LDI 2023 New Technology Breakfast was a resounding success, with manufacturers presenting cutting-edge products and innovative designs to impress attendees. Whether it’s autonomous lighting, wireless connectivity, or high-speed photography, the event offered something for everyone with an interest in lights and lasers.
