The London Transport Museum showcases a Wrightbus StreetDeck Electroliner, marking its first permanent display of a battery-electric bus. The interactive exhibit includes a driver’s cab and advanced safety features, collaborating with multiple companies to enhance public education on EV innovation.

The London Transport Museum has unveiled a front section of a Wrightbus StreetDeck Electroliner, featuring an interactive driver’s cab and passenger area. This is the museum’s first permanent display of a battery-electric London bus. Visitors can experience the cab, inspect safety features, including a camera monitoring system instead of traditional rear-view mirrors, and enjoy modern digital screens for next-stop announcements.

Supported by Transport UK London Bus, the exhibit showcases the vehicle branded with the logo and fleet number LTM1. Wrightbus provided essential components for the bus, while engineering work was conducted by RGI Bus and Coach Refurbishment, which has recently joined Wrightbus. Further support includes a donated Zenobē charger and displays from AG Marketing and Hanover Displays.

Elizabeth McKay, Director of the London Transport Museum, expressed gratitude towards all contributors, highlighting the museum’s commitment to showcasing the development of transport in London. Alastair Wills, Commercial Director at Transport UK London Bus, noted the honour of presenting the bus and contributing to the education of future generations regarding electric vehicle innovations.

The London Transport Museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history and evolution of transport in London. With growing interest in electric vehicles (EVs) and sustainable transport solutions, the inclusion of the Wrightbus StreetDeck Electroliner aligns with efforts to educate the public about advancements in public transport technology. As cities increasingly shift to greener transportation methods, such exhibits play a vital role in raising awareness and interest.

The London Transport Museum’s new exhibit featuring the Wrightbus StreetDeck Electroliner represents a significant step in promoting electric bus technology. With interactive elements and modern features, it provides educational insights into the evolution of transportation and encourages public engagement with sustainable transport solutions. Thanks to collaboration with various partners, this exhibit promises to inspire future generations while highlighting innovative developments in the transport sector.
