Spent an uplifting winter afternoon at London’s Culture Mile, enjoying Australian cuisine at Barbie Green, exploring art at Guildhall, and watching A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Barbican. An afternoon spent in London’s Culture Mile was a delightful remedy for the winter blues. My partner and I indulged in Australian cuisine at Barbie Green, a lively restaurant with a summer vibe. We enjoyed a “tea-total” bottomless brunch featuring scrumptious dishes like blueberry buttermilk pancakes and award-winning banana bread. After brunch, we explored the Culture Mile, notable for its cultural events and architecture, making use of the Footways website for a guided route. A highlight was visiting the Guildhall Art Gallery, free to enter and featuring an impressive collection, including the captivating Anne Desmet exhibition. The day culminated in a magical performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Barbican Centre, which left us thoroughly entertained and warmed.
