In 2024, Middlesex University’s Arts and Creative Industries students excelled with numerous accolades, showcasing their work in exhibitions like the Christmas Flash Fashion Show and the North London Degree Show. Graduates received prestigious awards, such as the Global Peace Award and recognition at national competitions, highlighting their talent and innovation across various creative fields, including fashion, film, and photography.

Middlesex University’s Arts and Creative Industries students celebrated a successful 2024, marked by significant accolades and events. The year culminated in the Christmas Flash Fashion Show, showcasing 50 student designs and drawing an audience of 250. Lisa Wilkinson, Senior Lecturer in Fashion Design, highlighted the opportunity it gave students to collaborate across disciplines and gain valuable experience.

The North London Degree Show featured outstanding final-year projects across various creative fields and further exhibitions, including one at The Crypt Gallery, displayed the innovative work of graduates. Nefeli Dimakea received the Global Peace Award for her film “All Rise,” while BA Animation graduate Agata Tabacu gained recognition at the Black Sea Animation Workshop.

MA Photography students Beatrice Balzano and Maryam Javadian had their work featured in Source Magazine Graduate Photography, celebrating the programme’s strong focus on contemporary social documentary photography. Also notable were the achievements of MA Interiors students Ng Qassandra and Ariana Daniela Chavez Zavala at the Architects for Health Student Awards.

Middlesex graduates Holly Sezer and Luke Rooney were selected for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries exhibition, while the university secured the ‘Best Stand’ award at the D&AD New Blood Awards. In addition to these recognitions, students engaged in community initiatives such as the Kilburn Museum Lab exhibition and the Hear My Voice campaign against violence towards women.

Recognition at the Interior Educators Awards included two winning projects, specifically Abeen Sami’s triumph in the Social Justice category and collaboration among students from various arts disciplines for the Objects of Rhythm project.
